Youth: Regional Wisdom and Ways

African Youth Initiative

The Student Global Ambassadors program (SGA) provides a unique forum for American and African youth to come together to gain cross-cultural insight, build lasting friendships, hone leadership, advocacy, and diplomacy skills, and share their own views of their world. Student participants have the opportunity to meet with government representatives, humanitarian aid practitioners, academic experts, and local leaders to learn about issues such as public health, peace building, development, trade, and education in Africa.

India, Make a Difference

Young adults recruit others to teach young children who have not had an opportunity. As well, European and Indian youth come together to travel and discover how business is done in India and Europe and then bring the business models to help developing rural areas learn how create successful business. College students in India are on the lookout for ways to make their country a better place for everyone. India is a very diverse continent and there are many growing economic opportunities for youth especially in the IT sector.

China

Youth Conference “Butter”. In China, youth are coming together to create new, cool trends that do not mimic those found in USA and Japan, but that create their sense of youth culture. These ideas are hatched at a youth conference called Butter. Like the rest of the world, Chinese Youth are concerned with Globalization, open source media and a growing sense of individualism. Chinese youth want to make a difference and make it in a unique way.

Hip Chicas

Many Latina females are quite taken by a web site called Hip Chicas. HipChicas celebrates the largest growing youth population in the world, Latinas and Spanish-speaking girls. HipChicas presents music, advice, fashion and youth trends all on one organized website, giving youth a central place that validates their unique culture.

Youth Everywhere

Life is becoming more and more homogenized (the same) for youth around the world. Youth are greatly influenced by media, cell phones, texting, the Internet. However, while youth are involved in these new technologies, they are not self-absorbed. Youth want to be global leaders. They want the world to be a better place and youth everywhere are volunteering.
